GoAskMarshall.com is a personal travel advice site. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site and how it is used. There are no surprises here.
What we collect
When you ask a question on the site, your query is logged along with a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash is irreversible — it cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your IP address. It exists solely to help detect abuse. Raw IP addresses are never stored.
If you use the Share feature, your question and the AI-generated answer are saved to a permanent page on this site. You initiate this — nothing is saved automatically without your action.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand general traffic patterns — which pages are visited, how long people spend reading, and where visitors come from geographically. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This data is processed by Google under their own privacy policy.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies
This site uses cookies from Google Analytics for analytics purposes. Additionally, when you click an affiliate link on this site, the affiliate network may set its own cookies to track that referral. No advertising cookies or marketing pixels are set directly by this site.

How questions are answered
Questions you ask are sent to Anthropic via their API to generate answers. Your question is processed by Anthropic's systems in accordance with their privacy policy. Questions are not used to train AI models.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
- We do not create user accounts or require registration
- We do not store payment information of any kind
- We do not use your questions to build advertising profiles
Data retention
Query logs are retained for up to 90 days and used only to monitor for abuse and understand general usage patterns. Google Analytics data is retained per Google's standard data retention settings.
Your rights
If you have questions about data collected about you, or would like to request deletion of any logged data associated with your usage, contact us at the address below. Because IP addresses are stored only as irreversible hashes, it may not be possible to identify or delete specific records.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
